Robert L Perea was born and raised in New York City where he attended the prestigious and multi-cultural Bronx High School of Science.

 

After graduating from Fordham University at Lincoln Center and spending a few years working in television and film production he stumbled upon a job at a TriBeCa preschool. From that point on he has been working as a teacher and coordinator in preschools throughout Southern Manhattan.

 

He conceived of the idea for A Moose is A Moose is A Moose while working in production between his Junior and Senior years of college. Over the course of many years, while tweaking the themes and characters of the book, he realized he had the makings of an entire book series on his hands. He credits his parents, both NYC public school teachers, and the melting pot uniqueness of New York City, as well as his love of both nature and traveling the world, as the inspirations for this book and series. Robert tries his best to split his time between New York and Rome, Italy.
